Pop The Q!

Pop The Q! is a show on music channel TMF that has become my latest tv fascination. Its basically a call-in show where the callers are given a hidden list of 10 answers with each answer worth a sum of money, if they guess correctly they win the cash. There really is no rhyme or reason as to why the 10 answers on the list are placed in that order, its totally random with a fairly vague topic like 'Female Pop Stars' or 'Classic American TV Shows.' The show is on late at night and I have found myself on more than one occasion just laying there watching, trying to see if my guess lands on the list, I have been tempted to call in on more than one occasion but I am sure the 'extra charges from your phone operator' tacked on to the '60p per call' on the 0900 number are way too high. I think what fascinates me the most is the hostess, who looks slightly bored by it all and is dressed for a night of clubbing just after the whole thing is over. Her attempts to maintain her enthusiasm while waiting for the callers to come in are admirable to say the least. I was very tired last night but managed to stay up just to see if anyone would guess Falcon Crest as an answer to Classic American Shows as I was convinced it was there for some reason (someone did guess it and it wasn't!). You may think I'm crazy but at least this is slightly less embarassing than admitting liking Deal or No Deal, which I don't, no honestly you guys..... GUYS???????!!!!!

Summer Daze

Its been a really nice week in terms of weather here in London. Very hot and not a cloud in sight. We finally had the first taste of summer last Saturday, which was the day of my friends Rob and Phil's civil partnership. It was a really special day, I don't see or speak to Rob nearly as much as I should, I've known him for as long as I've lived in London, so it was really beautiful to share in his day. It was a small ceremony, probably around 40 guests and the atmosphere was fantastic, full of joy and love. It irks me that during the same week George Bush was trying to amend the US Constitution to disallow this, our American counter-parts deserve better than this.

Other than the wedding, it has not been a very eventful week, a barbeque and drinks on a terrace yesterday were nice, even if I did drink a bit too much wine. I left my bag in South Central last night along with my glasses, I am hoping it will be found, or I am gonna need new specs!

American Idol No More

I was told over dinner last night that my blog has way too much American Idol in it, and looking at the main page I will only have to agree. I've given up on AI anyway, after the shambles that is this years winner (for me he's like Lord Voldemort, I won't dare even speak his name anymore) there is no point in watching any longer. No point.

A Blog-ia-tus

I have taken a bit of a hiatus from blogging lately, I am not really sure why this has happened, I get through periods where I just don't feel like writing. I think my brain cells are being slowly destroyed from watching too much Big Brother on Channel 4. Honestly, every summer I vow not to get sucked in and every summer I end up forming way too strong of an attachement to the show. For the record, Nikki is my favorite housemate to watch, Grace is my favorite housemate that I love to hate. Just in case you're keeping track.
